LIHTC Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program Application Form

The LIHTC Program is a federally governed program administered by the IRS and monitored by the Montana Board of Housing. This is a program to serve low income people. Blackfeet Housing currently has two (2) completed tax credit projects (South Flatiron and Country Estates) and two (2) tax credit projects under construction/rehab.(North Country Estates and Irvin Tract). In 2001 Blackfeet Housing applied for & received their first allocation of tax credits. South Flatiron is a 20 unit single family dwellings consisting of 10 each 2 and 3 bedroom units.The project has been fully occupied since completion. The units are fully equipped with energy efficient appliances including dishwashers. The units have individually fenced yards and carports with concrete driveways and paved streets.

According to IRS Guidelines, tenants are required to recertify every year. Re certification includes updating income, student and family ppstatus. It is-the tenants responsibility to maintain their yards. Blackfeet Housing does quarterly inspections on each unit. To apply for the South Flatiron units, applications may be picked up & returned to Blackfeet Housing. Applications will be reviewed for completion and income qualification. Qualifying applicants will be placed on the existing waiting list according to date and time of completed application.
