The Blackfeet Housing Renovation Department renovates Mutual and Rental units to ensure decent, safe and sanitary housing conditions. The renovations will be planned according to a needs analysis conducted by the Blackfeet Housing Renovation Field Supervisor. The renovation shall not exceed $25,000. The needs analysis will be approved by the Blackfeet Housing Board of Commissioners prior to commencement of work.
It is not the intent of the Blackfeet Housing to penalize homeowners for maintaining their home. Therefore, upon inspection and approval, and before materials are ordered, a homeowner may provide specific documentation for repairs/ improvements, and substitute that item for another renovation item. Consideration for such requests will be based on workmanship and quality of materials and must be of a similar cost in order to maintain the $25,000 renovation budget. The homeowner must sign a written agreement substituting renovation items, prior to any work commencing. Energy conservation repairs/ improvements will be addressed first.
Homeowners who are on the renovation waiting list and in compliance with the eligibility requirements may request emergency repairs (as defined under Section 4 – emergency repairs.)
Renovation Supervisor is also responsible to:
- Plan, schedule and coordinate contract work for major, minor repairs, remodeling to
include handicap facilitation.- Insure proper procurement of all renovation contract materials and payroll for
contractors.- Annual scheduling with material ordering for all scheduled renovation projects.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of staff and evaluate their performance.
- Manage and oversee operation of all renovation activities.
- Oversees and monitors the materials and equipment inventory of the department
- Plan schedule, and coordinate general renovation, major repairs and remodeling or construction of rental units.
